Last night, AEW fans were left with more questions than answers following the conclusion of AEW Dynamite. Following the epic main event clash between Samoa Joe & Minoru Suzuki, Joe would be provoked by Jay Lethal & Sonjay Dutt. At the same time, the lights went out – signalling something big was coming. Something big did indeed happen, as Satnam Singh would appear in the ring.
This was the debut of the giant, but fans were excepting someone different – leading to mass letdown – and some hate slung at Singh. However, QT Marshall feels that AEW fans need to give things a chance before starting a wave of backlash.
QT Marshall Feels That AEW Fans Aren’t Giving Satnam Singh A Proper Chance
While speaking on Busted Open Radio, veteran and trainer QT Marshall would have the following to say.
“Satnam Singh. He’s one in a billion. He was the first-ever Indian-born NBA draftee from India, and you know, he’s really special. I’m excited that they got him out there, and you know, obviously, I read some of the stuff that people were saying about him. Listen, he’s brand new. You’ve gotta give him a chance. I think the best way to put someone out there is, to put him out there with guys with a lot of experience. Nobody knows what he’s going to do. It’s not like he’s going for the World Title right now.”
Right now, Singh will be acting as the muscle for Lethal & Dutt – and also serves as a way for AEW to get a foothold in the Indian market. He’s very much a developmental project at this time, similar to Jade Cargill & Anthony Ogogo. Having been signed to AEW back in September 2021, it’s likely he’s been working with QT Marshall in the Nightmare Factory.
The Debut Was Mishandled
However, very little of the backlash is about Singh as a whole. He’s the target due it being his debut, but there’s no idea on what he is capable of just yet. Had AEW not done the Lights Out debut, things might have went smoother. Some fans have pitched that having this giant push through the crowd would have been a great visual for a debut, and allowed Lethal & Dutt to attack a distracted Joe in the ring.
Right now, there is no telling what Singh will bring to AEW – but chances are, it’s not going to be as bad as fans are already worrying. What do you expect from Singh in AEW? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
