The top story making the front page of many magazines throughout the world these past two days is – the Elon Musk buying Twitter story.
After his takeover, Elon will make many considerable changes in the Twitter policy, mostly around the censorship area.

Vijaya Gadde, whether you like her or not, plays a great role in the censorship strategy of Twitter. She is responsible for the censoring of the Hunter Biden laptop story and a lot of other stories that are downgrading the democratic wing in the USA. She is also responsible for the removal of former US President Donald Trump from the platform. This triggered Elon’s belief in democracy and he did not back off from firing at her.
Earlier this week, Elon tweeted a meme that ridiculed Vijaya Gadde. The meme was mocking Twitter’s policy for censoring. Their censorship decisions are filtered through a left-wing affected filter. That’s what the meme represents.
When she was a guest to Joe, back in 2019, she explained the company’s policy for misgendering transgender people. She backed up this policy with the number of suicides that occurred due to this alleged ‘misgendering’.
Nobody is happy when tragic things like suicide happen, regardless of the reason. However, can she really claim that the real reason for these suicides was exactly the misgendering? There are numerous studies showing that transgender people face much greater discrimination than being called by the wrong gender.
The wealthy businessman targeted Vijaya several times. This was not his first time. Earlier he wrote tweets criticizing her for the 2020 policy decision regarding censorship. He called her the ‘top censorship advocate’ and he labeled her actions as ‘incredibly inappropriate’.
Gadde is now fearing that she might lose her job. Prone to manipulation of information – this is her label now. All this censoring in order to benefit a certain cause or political party. Who would want an employee like that? At last, we are promoting a free speech world. A democratic society. Gadde’s way is not the way to a better world.
Reportedly, at her recent meeting with her team, she even got emotional. After Elon’s takeover she is worrying about the future of the company. She is unsure of the direction in which he will steer it.
This leaked information about her concern for the future of the company and the emotional speech that she gave at the meeting did raise some noise. The continuous and numerous tweets targeted at Vijaya are also not passing by unnoticed.
Dick Costolo is an American businessman, EX-Twitter COO and CEO, a founder of 01 Advisors, and a sorry-ass crybaby. Lately, he stepped out and tried to ‘defend’ a fellow past coworker from the public ‘attacks’ from the new owner of the company, Elon Musk.
“What’s going on? You’re making an executive at the company you just bought the target of harassment and threats.” and “Bullying is not leadership” – Dick wrote.
What is the background of these ‘attacks’ on the lawyer? A very logical answer is that Elon simply does not like Vijaya. And since he is not able to ‘let her go’ from the company without a reason he is directly attacking her, so she can leave by herself. This sounds wrong and not correct – mostly because it is.
The correct way to do this is to pay her out and then let her go. Without bringing too much attention to her, and to himself. However, the cocky businessman enjoys being in the center of attention. Not that he doesn’t like it, on the contrary, he welcomes it and most probably benefits greatly from it. He lives by the rule that there is no bad publicity. As long as you are in the press you are an important person.
There is no place for empathy for the employees in the companies led by Elon. Musk doesn’t care about anything you do. If you wrong him once – that’s it. You are out of there. You better do your job exactly like he requested, or else, you won’t have a following job.
The executive director of Rebellion PAC, Brianna Wu, who actually is a long-time advisor of Twitter’s trust and safety team is sharing her concern about the future of the platform with Vijaya. She said that she cannot imagine what will happen if Twitter is being led with less empathy than it already does.
And actually, we must say that she might have a good point here. Imagine a situation where a death threat, hate speech, or rape threat is being tweeted. These types of posts are shown to attract a great deal of engagement. Subsequently, they are being shown to a greater number of users. More engagement, more comments, more clicks, more ads – more money for Elon.
The main fear that Brianna Wu has is that Elon might not censure these types of posts. They would generate more money for him and this might lead to a renaissance of harassment.
I personally think that we don’t have anything to worry about – harassment-wise. Elon, as strange and controversial as he is –is not a fan of such type of harassment. I think that even though he promotes free speech and less censorship he will follow the moral code and ethics and will not allow such out-of-hand situations to occur.
What we will face during his rule of Twitter is – two-sided information, more freedom of speech, less censoring of controversial information, and lastly advocating for freedom of the mind. Are you on Team Elon?
