Lamar Odom has opened up on how he would be open to taking ibogaine, a hallucinogenic drug, again to combat any potential mental health issues down the line.
Lamar Odom Does Not Rule Out Doing Drugs Again-‘I’ll Take The Risk’
Lamar, for his part, has been through quite a bit in his life. His late son Jayden passed away in 2006 at the age of just six-months when he was diagnosed with Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
Naturally, that incident had an impact on his mental health, something which he struggles with to this day. But in order to maintain a closeness to Jayden, Lamar admitted to having taken the drug previously in Mexico.
And after having ingested it, this had allegedly allowed him to see Jayden throughout the different stages of his life had he been alive. While there are obvious risks with this, given that anything can go wrong, Lamar was still keen on it.
In an interview with Page Six, he said: “I’ve done drugs a big part of my adult life, and that was one thing that was so strong I was hoping that it would stop. It was, like, really overwhelming.
“Anything that’s going to make me better I’ll take the risk and take the jump. I’ll leap — the leap of faith.” If these comments are taken to be true, then it is significant for the following reasons.
First of all, it would suggest that Lamar has underlying issues that he needs to address. And taking a drug is not going to make that go away. Secondly, this is the last thing that he should be doing.
After all, it was in 2015 that he nearly died after being taken to hospital as a result of an overdose. And yet, Lamar has still left the door open.
His following comments confirmed as much: “No, I haven’t done it again, but I could probably strap up and do it again.”
Lamar will have to think very carefully about where he goes next. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
