Britney Spears has always been good at making headlines, but she’s gotten extra attention as of late after her recent pregnancy announcement and subsequent news of suffering a miscarriage. Britney took to Instagram earlier this week to inform her followers that she and her fiancé Sam Asghari “have lost our miracle baby”.
“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy,” said the couple in a joint statement. “This is a devastating time for any parent. Perhaps we should have waited to announce” the pregnancy “until we were further along however we were overly excited to share the good news. Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family. We are grateful for all of your support. We kindly ask for privacy during this difficult moment.”
Some Britney Spears Fans Question If She Was Ever Really Pregnant, Says “Knew It Was A Hoax From The Beginning”
While most of the comments left on Britney’s post were messages of support and condolences, a number of comments harshly accused Britney of never being pregnant in the first place.
“Knew it was a hoax from the beginning,” wrote one follower, “This girl is playing you all,” while another said “You can fool all of the people some of the time but you can’t fool us”. Another not-so-friendly commenter stated, “You should be ashamed of yourself for even posting this. We all know you weren’t pregnant. Now, you’re pretending to go through the heartbreak that some of us have been through.”
While the authenticity of Britney’s pregnancy was being called into question, many fans also expressed concern for the singer’s mental health and overall well-being.
“I predicted this…I pray you get the help you truly need…I don’t think there was ever a baby..where are the people who truly love our Brit?? She’s surrounded by USERS!!!,” someone said in a comment.
“Surprise, surprise. This was in her mind. It was no coincidence that someone took over her social media site and had to repair her previous postings. I’m sorry but she needs 24 hour care. Whatever you want to call it…conservatorship or just someone overseeing and making sure her best interests are in mind. Her writings are very clear of someone needing help,” another commenter suggested.
Other Instagram users made references to when Britney first announced her pregnancy and said she initially thought it was a “food baby”. “She was pregnant with a food baby. Remember?” said one person, while another quipped, “I am so sorry that you lost your food pregnancy”.
While mocking a woman who said she just had a miscarriage is no laughing matter, neither is faking a pregnancy. In any case, Britney’s chaotic pregnancy posts on social media have left many people concerned and confused.
If Britney did in fact fabricate a pregnancy, Sam was either tricked into believing her or he was in on an elaborate scheme for attention. Asghari seemed to have confirmed Britney’s baby news on his own Instagram back in April, saying, “Marriage and kids are a natural part of a strong relationship filled with love and respect. Fatherhood is something I have always looked forward to and I don’t take it lightly. It is the most important job I will ever do”.
Sam commented on Britney’s unfortunate miscarriage post by saying, “We will have a miracle soon”. The couple have made their plans to start a family very clear, so it seems like they will keep trying for a baby.
