We are living in a strange world. Presidents are suddenly comedians, gaffing around and entering cringe moments. And comedians are more reasonable and have better views of the world.
President Joe Biden continues his series of gaffes, now in South Korea. He was headed to meet the current South Korean President Yoon at the lobby of the Samsung Electronics Pyeongtaek Campus facility and take a tour of the factory. While there he made several unforgivable mistakes.
Biden Continues Gaffes Saga In South Korea – Mistakes President’s Name
‘This is an auspicious start to my visit, because it’s emblematic of the future cooperation. Cooperation and innovation our nations can and must build together.’ Biden says as he enters his conversation with President Yoon.
Both presidents were accompanied by the Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo. All of them together took a tour of one of the floors of the Samsung plant where representatives of the staff gave them a brief explanation of what they are producing there.
For the visit, the company prepares well and flies over a representative from the USA plant to explain the process to the President. After giving the needed explanation of the process Biden turns and says to him – “Don’t forget to vote Peter. You may live here, but don’t forget to vote!”
What happens after the tour is a very cringe moment. President Biden while trying to thank President Yoon for the tour, he mistakes his name with the name of the previous president Moon. He continues and mispronounces the location of the Samsung plant in the USA. Instead of Taylor, Texas, he calls it Tyler Texas.
Upon landing in Asia, at the Osan Air base, the President Biden wears a black face mask due to his concern of Covid 19 infection. He walks the jet way with his mask on, even though he is aware of the indoor mask mandate that the country has.
This is Biden’s first time in Asia as a president. It’s like now he remembers that he needs to build connection with the East. Now, when the world is on the verge of a major collapse. With the Inflation reaching highs that are not known until now, the raging pandemic, the baby formula shortage and the war in Ukraine – this visit of his seems like really late.
While there, he receives some really serious questions as well. He receives a question about the ongoing nuclear missile tests that North Korea performs on regular basis. Will the USA do something to interfere this and put an end to these unfriendly provocations?
The speaking role is taken by White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. He says that if such events are to continue, the USA will do everything to protect their allies.
What do you think, what kind of impression did Joe Biden leave to the South Korean President? Was his visit any good?
