Fans of Johnny Depp arrived outside of the courthouse to support the actor in his trial against Amber Heard with a pair of alpacas.

Such a gesture does seem out of place on first inspection, and yet, the alpacas have been a talking point in the most unique way. The animals relate to Depp’s deteriorating relationship with Disney and their ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movies.
During his cross-examination, Depp admitted that he would never work with Disney even if he was offered ‘$300 million and a million alpacas,’ when asked by Heard’s attorney Ben Rottenborn.
So when Amber’s other attorney Elaine Bredehoft asked Tina Newman ( a Disney executive) about whether Disney would consider paying Depp a ‘million alpacas’ for the movie, Johnny began to chuckle.
And ever since that moment, the alpacas have become a running joke. So much so that one supporter of Johnny turned up with a pair outside court. In the video here, we can see that Johnny has exited the court.
As he exits, he can be heard saying: “It’s alpaca day.” And as the footage rolls, the woman who brought the alpacas had a few words to say: “He [Johnny] looked kind of surprised and happy [to see them].”
But it was not just Johnny that was impressed with the alpacas. So were his legal team too. In another video here, we can see that both Johnny’s attorneys Ben Chew and Camille Vasquez were seen having pictures taken with the alpacas.
They have huge smiles on their faces and seem shocked that the ‘alpaca’ comments in the trial could have led to this. Much in the same way, the fans on social media could not help but laugh too.
And in doing so, it ultimately showed that Amber’s legal team had only strengthened the support for Johnny. One person wrote: “I would like to see the reaction to AH lawyers haha.” So there you have it folks.
