Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler has reportedly checked himself into rehab following a relapse.
Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler Enters REHAB Following A Relapse-‘We Are Devastated’
This is not the first time that Steven has struggled with his sobriety issues after having initially gone into rehab after being convinced by his bandmates in 1988.
In the aftermath of that process, the musician thanked his bandmates for their actions which ultimately saved his life. Therefore, this is the last thing that Steven will have wanted to go through especially since his four children are of adult age.
That is why it was not surprising then that his bandmates were on hand once again to let everybody know Steven’s current state.
In a post on the band’s Instagram, they said: “After foot surgery to prepare for the stage and the necessity of pain management during the process, he has recently relapsed and voluntarily entered a treatment program.”
As a result, Aerosmith have decided to cancel their upcoming shows in Las Vegas. Although it is not clear exactly how long Steven is going to be in rehab for, the band did hint that perhaps it may not be for too long.
They expanded on their intention to continue touring in September 2022, which can only be done if Steven is in a good place. And yet, the band recognised that the fans will have been affected nonetheless.
They added: “We are devastated that we have inconvenienced so many of you, especially our most loyal fans who often travel great distances to experience our shows.”
The fans on social media were rightly concerned. A significant proportion of fans hoped that Steven would be able to recover as soon as possible. And in the process of doing so, they sent their warm regards.
One person wrote: “Speedy recovery Stephen!” Hopefully, it is not too long before Stephen gets back to his usual healthy self. And the fans will be there to support him in that journey. So there you have it folks.
