Taiji Ishimori, much like Ace Austin, is no stranger to the X-Division of Impact Wrestling. He held the belt Austin now holds back in 2018, but Austin has never claimed the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. After being embarrassed by Yoshinobu Kanemaru last night, Ishimori has a chance to bounce back in a big way – and potentially open the door for himself to become a two time X-Division Champion with tonight’s first time ever singles match against Austin.

Clash Of Top Champions With Ace Austin & Taiji Ishimori

Austin would trip Ishimori to start the match, before a kick to the back. Ishimori would get taken to the mat, before Austin pulled the ace from his sleeve and attacked the fingers of Ishimori with the card. Austin would be sent to the floor by Ishimori, before the turnbuckle pad was removed.

Ishimori would use the steel in the corner to jam the shoulder of Austin, setting up that Bone Lock. Austin would keep the fight coming, hitting the Soar to Glory over the top rope to the floor. Double step roundhouse would miss in the ring, before Ishimori hit the Cipher UTAKI.

Shoulder breaker would follow, but Ishimori was hit with House of Cards and The Hold, but Ishimori was too close to the ropes for the pinfall to work. La Mistica into Bone Lock would land, but Austin found the bottom rope. Double step roundhouse would land, but inverted Bloody Cross would be the counter to The Fold.

Bloody Cross was blocked into a Northern Lights Suplex, but Ishimori would kick out. Austin would get the European Clutch, and while both mens shoulders were down – the winner was named as Ace Austin. That’s one dusty finish, and certainly needs a rematch – perhaps the winner takes all? Right now, Ace Austin is the first man to hit 10 points.

El Desperado Is In A Foul Mood

The rivalry between BUSHI & El Desperado seems even with a 3-2 record in favour of Desperado, until you realise that both victories BUSHI has over Desperado are from DQ’s. Tonight, as Best of the Super Juniors continues to heat up – BUSHI looks to get an honest victory over Desperado, and spoil a perfect run in the process.

BUSHI would get sent to the outside as this one began, before Desperado would lose control. Forearms would be traded in the ring, before Desperado took this one back to the floor for a bodyslam. The knee of BUSHI would hit the floor next, before the count was broken, and Desperado took it right back to the floor. The ring post would be used as a weapon, before another body slam – this time in the middle of the ring.

Desperado would look for the Numero Dos, before BUSHI slipped free. Guitarra de Angel would be locked, with BUSHI hitting a hurricanrana. Dropkick to the knee and backstabber would follow, before a neckbreaker for a two count. MX would be dodged, before Desperado hit the chop block.

BUSHI would get dropped with Guitarra de Angel, but kicked out at two. Lungblower from BUSHI was blocked with a punch to the face, before a running dropkick would drop Desperado. A second attempt at Lungblower would land, before the Destroyer landed.

Desperado was too close to the ropes for a pin, but MX would be set up and landed, giving BUSHI the victory. A major upset for sure, and will only have Desperado in a worse mood going forward.

Will El Desperado fall into a losing streak? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
