Tommy Pham, outfielder for the Cincinnati Reds has been given a three-game suspension for slapping San Francisco Giants player Joc Pederson over a fantasy football slight. Pham would tell reporters that he did in fact go after Pederson during the prep for the May 27, 2022 game between the Reds and Giants.
Cincinnati Reds Player Tommy Pham SLAPPED With 3-Game Suspension After SMACKING SF Giants Player Joc Pederson Over Fantasy Football Beef
Video of the slap would make its way around social media. Apparently, the slap came from Tommy Pham believing that Joc Pederson was cheating in a fantasy football league both participated in.
At the time, the slap seemed random and sparked speculation. That speculation was squashed after Pederson talked about the incident after the Giants’ 5-1 loss to the Reds. He said that he and Pham didn’t even have an argument prior to the slap. Tommy Pham will be back in action in two games as he was dropped from the lineup after the assault.

Pham is probably best known for his time with the St. Louis Cardinals from 2014 until 2018. He was traded to the Tampa Rays at the end of July 2018. In December 2019, he was traded to the Padres and played their 2020-2021 season before getting free agency in November 2021.
He signed a one-year contract with the Reds in March of this year.
