A New Hampshire man has been convicted of killing his wife’s co-worker and then forcing her to behead him. The reason for this madness? His wife was texting with him. 32-year-old Armando Barron was handed a life sentence for his actions.
Armando Barron Sentenced to Life Plus 45 Years for Killing Wife’s Co-Worker and Having Her Behead Him
A jury would deliberate the case but returned two hours late with a guilty verdict, according to WMUR-TV. The murder happened on September 19, 2020, when Barron—jealous of his wife Britany and co-work Jonathan Amerault’s close friendship—used his wife’s phone to lure him to a park at night.
Once Amerault arrived, he was met by Armando Barron who beat him. Barron finished Amerault off by shooting him to death. Britany was then forced to drive Amerault’s car to a campsite 200 miles away from the murder scene while Armando followed.
It was at the campsite; she was forced to behead Jonathan Amerault and dispose of his body. This is where the defense attempts to chuck Britany under the bus. In her closing statement, Meredith Lugo said:
“Her claims are like something out of a TV movie, not real life. They are sensationalized to make Armando seem like a monster and her seem like a tragic victim.”
She would add, “The only person Britany ever tried to save here was herself. And what she was trying to save herself from wasn’t Armando—it was prison.” In late April 2021, Britany Barron pleaded guilty to three charges of falsifying physical evidence. She was released on parole in April 2022.
The charges against Armando Barron included capital murder, murder, kidnapping, two counts of solicitation of assault, assault related to the death of Jonathan Amerault, criminal solicitation of murder, domestic violence, reckless conduct, and striking his wife.
Armando Barron was sentenced to life in prison on May 27, 2022, for the murder. He was given an additional 45 years for the rest of the other charges related to the murder. Barron will also have to pay $13,000 in restitution to the family of Jonathan Amerault.
