Steve Harvey has commented on the apparent split between his stepdaughter Lori Harvey, 25, and actor Michael B. Jordan, 35. The talk show host addressed the breakup while showing compassion for his daughter during the demise of her romantic relationship. “I’m team Lori, one thousand percent. She’s my daughter. I love her, I support her,” Steve declared during a recent episode of ‘The Steve Harvey Morning Show’.
Trying to make light of the situation, Steve alluded to the breakup being somewhat amicable, saying, “Look, as long as everybody can walk away in peace, be friends…I ain’t heard nobody say they busted no windows or nothing.”
Steve Harvey Comments on Daughter Lori Harvey’s Breakup With Michael B. Jordan, Says He’s Glad They ‘Got Out Early’
“As long as you don’t put your hands on my daughter, I don’t give a damn what you do. He’s still a cool guy…from what I know. It’s a breakup. I’m pretty sure they’ll be fine. People break up all the time,” he elaborated. Steve Harvey quickly shifted gears to speak about how he’s glad the pair “got out early” and lamented on how he should have done the same in past relationships. “I just wish I could have broke up without the cost factor! I got to start learning from my children, get out early! I waited way too late. I’m gonna have to start breaking up on IG ’cause this going to court is costly,’” he said. Steve seems to know what he’s talking about, as he’s already experienced three divorces of his own.
During an interview several months ago, Steve was previously asked if he would give Michael B. Jordan his blessing to marry his daughter. The comedian and host struggled to give a proper answer and repeatedly uttered that it was a “tough question”.
Lori Harvey and Michael B. Jordan were dating for over a year before calling it quits. News of the former couple calling it quits made headlines last week with sources claiming that they “still love each other” and that they are both “completely heartbroken” over the split.
“Michael matured a lot over the course of their relationship and was ready to commit for the long term. He let down his guard with her, opening up emotionally in a romantic relationship for the first time. They had great times together and brought out the best in each other,” alleged the source. Though if Lori Harvey and Michael B. Jordan were as happy as others claimed they were, they would probably still be together.
