Former United States & Crusierweight Champion Kalisto will be staying in WWE for a while yet, as it is reported he has signed a new multi-year deal with the company. Kalisto is currently part of the Lucha House Party faction, alongside Lince Dorada & Gran Metalik. They perform on both 205 Live & Monday Night RAW.
At only 33 years old, Kalisto is still yet to even hit his prime as a professional wrestler, and his fast paced style is one that is able to continuously win over fans and critics alike. He feels like he still has a ton to accomplish in WWE, and it’s hard to disagree with him.
Will The Lucha House Party Continue?
It is now clear that Kalisto is staying with WWE, but Gran Metalik is a wrestler who has not been quiet about wanting to leave the company. It’s unclear where Lince Dorado stands on all this, but we could see Lucha House Party lose a member within in the year. They could add in new members at any time, and with El Hijo del Fantasma waiting to make his WWE debut, they could swap Metalik out for Fantasma, a luchador of equal skill.
Could Kalisto Be A Contender For Andrade?
With Andrade in a heated feud with Rey Mysterio, and wanting to fight Cain Velasquez next, it’s clear that his targets are members of the locker room who are of Hispanic heritage. Should he survive his possible bout with Cain Velasquez, that could leave Kalisto as his next opponent. With their speed being nearly equal, it would be a match you couldn’t blink during. It would be a fantastic showcase of skill for both these talented individuals.
With Kalisto being a former two time United States champion, he would pose a serious threat to Andrade. Plus it has been a long time since we saw a title vs. mask match in WWE. Andrade wouldn’t take the mask of Rey Mysterio, but the mask of Kalisto could become a target for him. They should have done a match like this before Sin Cara’s depature, especially with how they have seemingly retired that character.
