Professional wrestling legend Jeff Hardy has been arrested yet again, this time for a DUI in Floirda. Volusia County jail records show that Hardy was booked early Monday morning and charged with DUI alcohol/drugs and is his third offense in 10 years. He was also driving with a suspended or revoked license. He’s currently being held on a $3,500 bond.
44-year-old Hardy currently wrestles in All Elite Wrestling, where he rejoined his brother Matt, the two of them had previously made names for themselves in the WWE for Vince McMahon. They were scheduled for a ladder match with the Young Bucks and Jurassic Express this Wednesday.
AEW Star Jeff Hardy Arrested For DUI Charge In Florida
Hardy has a long history of substance abuse and addiction. Without it, he would most likely be one of the biggest superstars of the early 2000s’. His hugely popular ladder match with The Undertaker had him destined for greatness, however, drug abuse came first, unfortunately, and he was in and out of wrestling a lot.
Hardy was released from WWE last December after he had an incident in which he strangely excited through the crowd during a match at an untelevised hour show. They decided to release Hardy after they offered to send him to rehab, but he declined.
Hardy has a court date set for Tuesday afternoon.
This is another tough blow for the wrestler, and we wish him the best. He truly needs help, and we hope he ends up finally getting it. Even through all of his troubles, he has left an impression on my generation forever, and was still dazzling fans while doing his signature Swanton Bombs at his age. He is a master at putting on a show and knows how to win over the crowd. It’s unfortunate that we didn’t get to see a full storied career out of him, but whenever we get the chance, it’s always a joy to see him doing what he loves, especially alongside his own brother.
Get healthy Jeff. We all love you and want you to come back. We hope it’s not too late.
