A royal insider has suggested that Prince William is out to end Prince Andrew’s public association with the royal family. Together with his father, Prince Charles, the Duke of Cambridge reportedly forced the Queen to strip Andrew of his royal honours in January 2022.
However, the source claims that Prince William is out to destroy Andrew’s ploy to force himself back into the royal limelight. After he was charged with sexual assault in a case against Virginia Guiffre that has since been settled, Prince Andrew lost his royal titles and military ranks.
Prince William Wants Prince Andrew To Stay Away From The Public Eye
Speaking in chat with the Daily Mail, the source said, “He has strong views on the Duke of York and believes his insistence in trying to cling on to a public role is highly dangerous for the institution. He would have cut him loose a long time ago if it had been up to him. He understands that when it comes to mother and son the situation is complicated, but honestly I think he just wishes he would vanish from public view.”

Prince William’s current all-out campaign against Prince Andrew has drawn praise from several people. Some Express readers claimed that Williams’ charge was one befitting of a future king that cares about the image of the monarchy. Andrew has been forced to play a bit-part role in the royal family in the last couple of months. However, the royal family are clearly trying to protect its image after couple of royal controversies caused by Prince Harry and most recently Prince Andrew put the monarchy in the negative spotlight.
The Duke was even excluded from the list of royals that were expected on the balcony during the trooping the colour that held over the platinum weekend. This came after Andrew created a public stir by walking in the Queen into the packed Westminster Abbey during Prince Philip’s memorial service on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.
