Jon Moxley has been wanting to get his hands on Hiroshi Tanahashi for years, and will get his chance on Sunday. However first, he will team up with Tanahashi here tonight. They will face Lance Archer & Chris Jericho, who seems to be an unofficial member of Suzuki-gun going into Forbidden Door. Moxley & Tanahashi both have separate histories with Jericho & Archer, and that could be enough to get them on the same page here tonight.
Jon Moxley & Hiroshi Tanahashi Kicks This One Off With A Brawl
Tanahashi & Moxley would rush the ring, kicking this one off with a huge brawl. Jericho was taken outside by Moxley, while Tanahashi traded blows with Archer in the ring. Basement dropkick would land, before Archer would nail the Full Nelson Slam. Jericho would follow up with some punches in the corner, but Tanahashi fired back.
He’d block the bulldog of Jericho, and hung him in the corner before the running forearm smash in the corner. Moxley would get the tag and rained down elbow smashes on his old rival, Jericho – before also biting him. Jericho was sent to the floor with a lariat, before more brawling strikes.
Sammy Guevara would help Jericho take control, before Archer landed the pounce on Moxley in the ring. Moxley was isolated in the wrong corner, and Archer & Jericho kept the beating coming. Jericho would nail the running elbow, before meeting the knees of Moxley off a lionsault.
All Out Chaos As Dynamite Goes Off The Air
Tanahashi would get the tag, and nailed the flying elbow. Springboard crossbody would land, before an air guitar performance. Jericho would be slammed down to the mat, and the somersault senton got a two count. Tanahashi would set up the slingblade, but Jericho would block.
Archer hit the ring and was taken out, before Moxley hit the suicide dive. Judas Effect missed in the ring, and Tanahashi hit a sloppy Codebreaker. Aces High would land, but Jericho rolled through into the Walls of Jericho, but Moxley would get him free with a running cutter.
Tanahashi would nail the slingblade on Archer, and Moxley made himself available for the tag. Moxley would hit some lariats, before Archer would almost hit the Blackout. Paradigm Shift would land instead before High Fly Flow landed for the finish.
After the bell, Eddie Kingston would rush Chris Jericho. Sammy Guevara & Wheeler Yuta joined the mix, before Minoru Suzuki walked to the ring. Shota Umino joined the mix, and more bodies would follow. All while Tanahashi & Moxley talked trash in the middle of the ring.
