Princess Eugenie has been credited in trying to make Prince Harry and Meghan Markle feel welcome during their recent UK visit for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.
Princess Eugenie Praised For Looking After Harry And Meghan-‘Thank You…For Saving The Sussexes’
Those were the views of Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams. The couple had received a frosty reception to say the least, as Prince William had reportedly not made any eye contact with his brother during the ‘Service of Thanksgiving’ at St. Paul’s Cathedral.
However, Eugenie showed a royal spirit that was beyond her years by ensuring that the event went ahead without any disruptions by making sure that the two were welcomed.
After all, she was seated with the couple during the service, while Eugenie also happened to visit Harry personally when she attended the Super Bowl with him.
In his comments, Richard said: “A tremendous amount of work went on behind the scenes that we don’t know about. Princess Eugenie, who gets on with them, very likely was involved in that.”
Richard’s comments highlight a very significant point. There would seem to be a suggestion that there is a division within the Royal family with not everybody viewing Kate Middleton and Prince William in a positive light.
After all, Eugenie did turn a few heads when she posted a social media picture from the Jubilee of the palace balcony, which just so happened to not include Kate.
While some may argue that this was merely a coincidence, the fact of the matter is that Eugenie is the only member pushing hard to make the couple feel welcome.
Richard’s following comments confirmed as much: “Apart from Princess Eugenie, the relations with the Royal Family are pretty icy at the moment.”
And this was the sentiment being expressed on social media. People praised Eugenie for ultimately keeping the family together during the celebrations. One person wrote: “Harry and Meghan were never safe in those Vipers Nest.
“His Entire Family except for Eugenie and the Spencers were Compromised.. Thank You Jesus and The Holy Ghost for saving the Sussexes.”
