Although that may be the case, it appears that MGK almost destroyed this opportunity. This was in response to MGK going through a very dark period, while grieving over his father’s death.
And that is when things got out of control, as MGK’s mental health almost drew Megan away. In his comments during his documentary ‘Life in Pink,’ he said: “I kept getting paranoid that someone was gonna come and kill me.
“I called Megan. I was like, ‘You aren’t here for me.’ I’m in my room and I’m, like, freaking out on her. Dude, I put the shotgun in my mouth.”
Naturally, it was a very critical period in the rapper’s life. With Megan clearly worrying about what was happening, there was a serious danger that MGK could have killed himself in a moment of madness. A
nd that is precisely what almost happened only for a twist of fate to intervene. And looking back, who knows what could have happened had the bullet moved as it should have done.
He added: “And I’m yelling on the phone and like the barrel’s in my mouth. And I go to cock the shotgun and the bullet, as it comes back up, the shell just gets jammed. Megan’s like dead silent.”
That is when MGK realized that he needed to make a change in his life. He has had substance abuse issues in the past, but it was not exactly clear if he had been on any drugs during this incident.
Regardless of whether he was or not, MGK decided to make significant changes in his life by ensuring that he was there for Megan.
And that has only gone on to make their relationship a lot stronger. His following comments confirmed as much: “I was like, I need to kick the drugs for real this time.”
