The former Damien Sandow of WWE has been an absolute treat to watch in the NWA. He is the first ever Third Degree NWA National Champion, and student of the mysterious Question Mark. Aron Stevens has been a consistent highlight of NWA Powerrr, and he would defend his championship for the first time at NWA Hard Times. He would face a daunting challenge in Big Poppa Pump himself, Scott Steiner.
Aron Stevens Retains
It would take everything Stevens had to even survive against a legend like Scott Steiner, who would spend a good chunk of the match throwing Stevens around like a small child with suplexes. Any offense Stevens could slip in would be ineffective against his opponent, and he would try tricks like using his feet on the ropes for extra leverage after a roll up to try and steal the win. The situation was dire, and The Question Mark who was in Stevens corner would get involved before Stevens would be locked in the Steiner Recliner. This being done in direct sight of the referee would lead to a disqualification, which keeps the title on Aron Stevens.
Abandoning His Teacher
Following the save from Question Mark, Aron Stevens would slip away from the ring into the crowd. While he was escaping, Question Mark would be beat down by an angry Scott Steiner. Stevens would look on while Question Mark would be trapped in the Steiner Recliner, but would not save him. This could lead to a break between Stevens & Question Mark, with that being Stevens next challenge as NWA National Champion.
Considering Question Mark was crucial in both his victory at Into The Fire, and him remaining champ on this night, we will have to see if Stevens can cope on his own. Stevens is a smooth talker, and will explain his actions on an upcoming episode of NWA Powerrr. That could be enough to keep the alliance alive for now, but that will only work for so long.
