Did Jeff Bezos just call US President Joe Biden a liar? Or even better, does Bezos claim that Joe Biden doesn’t know what he is speaking about?
Recently, President Joe Biden requested that the companies that are in the oil business in the USA should lower the price of gas. This claim is jokingly commented by one of the wealthiest people in the world, Jeff Bezos. The billionaire accused Joe Biden of ‘not knowing what he is speaking about’ and that he lacks a basic understanding of the economy and how it actually functions.
Jeff Bezos Criticizes Joe Biden’s Dealing With The Inflation, He Says President’s Claims Are A Misdirection Or A Deep Misunderstanding
“Ouch. Inflation is far too important a problem for the White House to keep making statements like this.” – Jeff Bezos took to Twitter to express his worry about how the government is handling the situation. Furthermore, he worries about the nonsense claims and requests that Biden does from time to time. Claims such as the one where he asks lowering of the gas prices.
“My message to the companies running gas stations and setting prices at the pump is simple: this is a time of war and global peril. Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you’re paying for the product.” – Biden says. “Do it now!” – he demands.
As soon as Jeff Bezos saw what the president had written he re-tweeted it and harshly accused the president of being ‘incompetent’ to comment on the matter and make such claims.
“It’s either straight ahead misdirection or a deep misunderstanding of basic market dynamics.” – he says in the tweet. One question arises immediately. Does Joe Biden know how the forming of the price for gas is done?
Many people react to this tweet, accusing the President of trying to ‘fool’ the people into thinking that the prices go up solely because the gas stations are controlling the prices.
A comedian, who apparently knows more on the matter than the president called this presidential request complete bs. “Gas stations don’t control what they ultimately can charge.” – Tim Young says. “People aren’t this stupid.”
The best weapon of weak governments is to blame it all on the government that ruled before them. And Joe Biden does exactly that. Over the past period, Biden blames Donald Trump for various thing. He blames the Republicans for the conflict in Ukraine, for the Coronavirus pandemic, for the oil companies’ administration and control, and lastly for the gas prices. The gas prices across the globe are the highest they have been in the history of fossil fuels. But the price is not formed as simply as Biden may think. It is a complex process that needs great attention and a great deal of politics in order to remain in ‘control’.
Furthermore, Jeff Bezos previously disputes the White House’s dealing with inflation as well. The President blamed the excessive inflation on large companies, such as Amazon, Tesla and etc. And the billionaires are not agreeing with this view of the situation. The billionaires find the Biden administration guilty of not making the right decisions at the right time.
“They understandably want to muddy the topic,” Bezos shares a tweet regarding it. “They know inflation hurts the neediest the most. But unions aren’t causing inflation and neither are wealthy people. Remember the Administration tried its best to add another $3.5 TRILLION to federal spending. They failed, but if they had succeeded, inflation would be even higher than it is today. And inflation today is at a 40-year high.”
