Chris Evans has given his consent to Anthony Mackie taking over the role of Captain America.
Chris Evans Wants Anthony Mackie To Be The Next Captain America-‘Sam Wilson Is Captain America’
Chris’ comments arrived on the back end of speculation over whether the actor will take up the role again for a fourth movie.
And it all came to a head when Chris came out and simply gave his approval on who should replace him if a situation arrived without him in the franchise. In a post to his fans on Twitter, Chris said: “Sam Wilson is Captain America.”
The chances of Chris leaving the franchise are possible for the following reasons. First of all, sources stress that Chris is waiting on the outcome of whether Marvel sees him retaining the role going forward.
A source confirmed as much: “It is unclear if Chris Evans would reprise his role as the first #CaptainAmerica (though if the question of who is entitled to carry the shield continues, all bets are off).
“Having stacked casts in solo outings is a key Marvel ingredient at this point.” Secondly, rumours indicate that Jensen Ackles is also being considered for the role, despite Jensen having denied them.
In his comments at the time, Jensen remarked: “Did I audition for Captain America? No, I did not…I was not available, anyway.” This naturally generated a lot of talking points on social media.
A certain subset of people were of the view that Chris was the only Captain America. Meanwhile, others were not against Anthony continuing the role since it would provide an opportunity to have a new take on the character.
One person wrote: “Sorry, Sam Wilson is Falcon and the role of Captain America shouldnt be handed over just like that rather it should have ended like iron man.”
Regardless of what happens going forward, Chris has left a legacy for future people playing Captain America to follow. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
