Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were convinced that Prince William was jealous of their popularity.

That is according to Royal author Tom Bower in his book entitled ‘Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors.’ This claim arrives in response to the couple’s first Royal tour together in Oceania.
During the cause of that process, the pair managed to visit a variety of countries, including New Zealand, Australia, Fiji and Tonga across a 16-day period.
And as they were met with huge support, it appeared that Harry and Meghan felt William did not view this in a positive manner.
In his book, Tom wrote: “Harry and Meghan seemed to have convinced themselves that William was jealous of their success in Australia. The time was right for ‘change’.
“They needed to break out of Kensington Palace’s claustrophobic fishbowl.” Fast forward today, the pair have managed to do just that.
They have become financially independent from the Royal family by basing themselves in Santa Barbara and raising two children away from the media spotlight.
In addition, William and Kate Middleton’s latest Royal tour was an absolute disaster. The pair visited the Caribbean region where they were met by swathes of protests, as a result of the monarchy’s previous colonial past.
Not only that, but the couple also faced domestic backlash with reports that the British taxpayer was outraged that over £200,000 had been spent on that tour.
The fans on social media did find some credence towards these claims. And in the process of doing so, they praised Harry for acting in the best interests of his family.
One person wrote: “Kudos to Meghan for not allowing herself to be disrespected and to Harry for supporting her over those racists homophobic snobs.
“Too bad Prince William never stood up for Kate. We can see why this would make Kate extremely jealous of Meghan and the way Harry respected her!”
