Hirooki Goto is flying high after getting a victory over Tetsuya Naito earlier this week, and tonight will open the show as he teams with David Finlay & Ryohei Oiwa. They will face a dangerous trio from BULLET CLUB, with El Phantasmo, Juice Robinson, and KENTA stepping up.
Juice Robinson Comes Face To Face With Former Partner
BULLET CLUB would try for the pre-match attack, with Robinson sticking in the ring with his former tag team partner of Finlay. There was no turn on Finlay, but he’s got every reason to feel betrayed by his once best friend, and nailed the running uppercut.
KENTA & Goto got tags, men with mutual friendship with Shibata once linking them. A shoulder tackle would run KENTA down, before a hip toss into a elbow drop kept the pressure on. Neckbreaker would follow, and KENTA would tag out to ELP before things got dire.
ELP would gain control of the match, and BULLET CLUB would use some quick tags to keep Goto on the defensive. Near fall would follow both Oiwa & Finlay being sent to the floor. Goto would hit some swift strikes to get the opening, and nailed Ushigoroshi on KENTA.
Oiwa tagged in alongside ELP, and would hit the dropkick to the jaw and looked for the deadlift Gutwrench Suplex. Back Body Drop would follow instead, with ELP being able to bounce back and hit Sudden Death for the win.
Team Filthy Show Their Tag Team Skills
We saw TMDK clash with Team Filthy on Wednesday, and tonight – they run back this one back opening tag team clash. On July 26th, Lawlor will start his tournament against Lance Archer – and tonight he’s got another chance to win over the fans in Japan with his antics.
JONAH would kick things off with Lawlor, and was tossed down hard to the mat. If Lawlor is going to navigate the monster block as the smallest man involved, he needs to show the skills that made him STRONG Openweight Champion for so long. He’d avoid a body block in the corner, before applying the Rear Naked Choke – but JONAH easily flung him off.
Isaacs & Tito would tag in, and Tito would show his uncanny agility before being caught with a Belly to Belly Suplex and basement dropkick. A vertical suplex had Tito down, and Lawlor tagged in before a Team Filthy double team led to Tito dropped with a modified Angle Slam.
Tito would block the Filthy Combo – and got the tag to JONAH. He’d throw his weight around against Isaacs, before Tito got the tag and hit the slingshot senton. JONAH was right back in, but Isaacs would manage a desperate German Suplex.
Tito & Lawlor hit the ring, and Lawlor would get the cravat and some knee strikes, before the spinning wheel kick and the the big jumping neckbreaker. Rear Naked Choke was applied, but JONAH broke things up. Headlock driver and double arm lock mixed with a cloverleaf would get Lawlor the win. JONAH will meet Lawlor in singles action on July 30th.
BULLET CLUB & Suzuki-gun Is More Of A Brawl Than A Match
Lance Archer is rightfully pissed off, after Bad Luck Fale won their recent tournament clash with a count out. Tonight, with Taichi & TAKA Michinoku in his corner – he takes aim at Fale, Chase Owens & Yujiro Takahashi in trios action.
TAKA would want to start with Fale, but Archer decided this was a dumb idea. Fale & Archer would brawl to the floor, and nearly ended up with a double count out. Taichi & Owens hit the ring, and would exchange some heavy strikes, with Owens tagging out to Takahashi.
Taichi would win out, before Archer would stomp Yujiro down in the corner. Suzuki-gun would get this one into a brawl, and BULLET CLUB would be able to find the advantage. Yujiro got TAKA alone in the ring, Taichi & Archer were on the floor – and Pimp Juice was an easy victory.
Can Yujiro Takahashi defeat El Phantasmo tomorrow when they meet in tournament action? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
