Candace Cameron Bure was thrusted into some unexpected drama earlier this week after JoJo Siwa’s TikTok, in which she branded the Fuller House star as the ‘rudest celebrity’ she’s ever met, went viral. Aside from sharing a bible verse to her Instagram stories that said ‘“Trust the lord always’, Bure initially stayed mum about the situation.
But the actress finally uploaded a video to the social media platform explaining that she reached out to Siwa and offered her an apology for hurting her feelings.
Candace Cameron Bure Gets Support From Tori Spelling, Kelly Rizzo & More After Apologizing To JoJo Siwa
“I was shocked when I saw the TikTok on Sunday,” Candace admitted before noting, “I was finally able to talk to JoJo this morning.” Candace then detailed how she and JoJo worked through the giant misunderstanding. “She actually didn’t want to tell me [how I was rude to her]. She said, ‘You know, I met you at the Fuller House premiere and I was 11 years old.”
Siwa told Bure that she asked for a photo with her on the red carpet, but Candace replied ‘not right now’. According to Bure, the dancer felt bad about mislabeling her as cruel, saying, “She said, ‘You weren’t even mean! And I get it now, as an adult, when you’re on the red carpet and everything’s happening and you’re being pulled in different directions, but at that time I was 11.”
Candace apologized to Siwa after realizing she ‘broke her 11 year old heart’. “Please know that as a mom, it breaks my heart that I made you feel that way and I’m sorry to your mom, too, that I did that to her daughter. I know if anyone crosses my kids, mama bear comes out.”
The Hallmark movie maven also pointed out a valuable lesson to her followers, saying, “No matter how many followers you have, even a 10-second trending TikTok video can do damage because our words matter and our actions matter. … We are both positive, encouraging people, and I told JoJo how much I’ve always appreciated her because she has been a good role model because of her positivity throughout her whole life and career. … There’s no drama. That’s the tea.”
Candace Cameron Bure received an outpouring of support from her fans and famous friends in the comments section of her video. 90210 star Tori Spelling said, “You are officially my spirit animal! So eloquently put. I’m sitting here crying watching this video. Rings soooooo true. You are truly an inspiration! Love u. Xo”. Another notable advocate for Candace was Bob Saget’s widow, Kelly Rizzo.
“Haha geez Candace! Why are you so mean!?!?” she joked before adding, “(Jk you’re the best ever…so crazy you even had to spill all the tea..if that’s how the kids say it these days).” Alexa PenaVega of SpyKids fame called Candace a “class act friend” while Dancing With The Stars pro Jenna Johnson and broadcaster Jason Kennedy posted a series of heart emojis to show love for their pal. Candace concluded by assuring fans that it was ‘all good on the JoJo front’.
