When Liv Morgan won the Money in the Bank match and cashed in to take the Smackdown Women’s Championship from Ronda Rousey – WWE fans were ecstatic. However, the real work starts tonight – as she will need to defend that championship against a full strength Rousey, not someone who just spent over ten minutes battling Natayla. Can Morgan prove herself as the top champion? Or will her first reign end as fast as it began?
Seth Rollins & Riddle Brawl It Out
While this match was seemingly set to begin, an irate Riddle would hit the ring. He’d demand for Seth Rollins to come to the ring for a fight – after being attacked by Rollins before this event. Rollins would come to the ramp, and would brawl it out with Riddle.
WWE officials would try to split this fight up, before Rollins hit the Curb Stomp in the ring. Riddle was left down after this, and Rollins would walk to the back. A quick brawl, but Rollins sent a clear message.
Liv Morgan & Ronda Rousey Waste No Time Getting Physical
With order restored, it was time for Rousey vs. Morgan! Morgan got a massive reaction from the packed crowd, and was a clear fan favourite into this match. Rousey would hit some takedowns and a rising knee, before going for an ankle lock and turning this into a suplex.
Morgan would get the ropes before striking at Rousey, hitting an enziguri before being kicked to the floor. Rousey would try to roll into Pipers Pit, but Morgan would block. She’d sent Rousey to the ropes to look for Oblivion, but Rousey would block and look to the armbar.
Morgan would move into a Crucifix to hit the Crucifix Bomb, getting just a two count. Rousey would apply a hanging armbar off the apron, before a takedown in the ring. She’d signal the armbrar, but Morgan would try her best to block and get the bottom rope.
Morgan would keep on fighting despite having one good arm, and would be taken to the mat for another armbar – but would plant the shoulders of Rousey to the mat. She’d tap out, but the referee was looking at the shoulders – and Morgan was declared the winner!
After the match, Rousey would attack both Morgan and the referee – going unhinged after being screwed. Will we see a rematch after this finish? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
