Denise Dowse has sadly passed away at the age of 64 following her battle with meningitis.
Denise Dowse Dies Aged 64 Following Battle With Meningitis
Things were already looking bleak for the actress after her sister, Tracey Dowse, had recently confirmed that she had been hospitalised and entered into a coma after the meningitis got worse.
Meningitis is a condition that affects the body by resulting in the inflammation of the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord.
And Tracy had made it very clear that her sister was depending on the prayers of everyone involved, as her condition was deteriorating.
In her comments at the time, she said: “I am requesting support and prayers be offered me and my sister, and my only immediate family @denisedowse.”
But now the worst has been confirmed, as Tracey came out with some warm words to remember a sister that had achieved so much.
In April of this year, Denise made her directorial debut in ‘Remember Me: The Mahalia Jackson Story.’ This told the life of Mahalia’s role in the ‘Civil Rights Movement,’ and the subsequent friendship she had with Martin Luther King Jr.
And as that only came out this April at the ‘Pan African Film Festival,’ the achievement has now been clouded by this tragic news. But that did not prevent Tracey from giving her the best tribute.
In the picture here, we can see Denise has a massive smile on her face. The post was captioned by the following comments: “It is with a very heavy heart that I inform everyone that my sister, Denise Dowse has gone forward to meet our family in eternal life.
“Denise Yvonne Dowse was the most amazing sister, a consummate, illustrious actress, mentor and director. She was my very best friend and final family member.”
Hopefully, as time passes by, Tracey will be able to process this properly and heal. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
