Last week, Bron Breakker was able to retain his NXT Championship – shutting down The Irish Ace. Following that victor, the NXT UK Champion would step up – with Tyler Bate seemingly stepping up for a title shot.
There Will Soon Only Be One NXT Champion – Bron Breakker & Tyler Bate Agree To Winner Takes All Match
Tonight, Breakker would open the show – and said that JD McDonagh earned some respect. He’d call Tyler Bate out after this, saying he knows he didn’t fly across the Atlantic to just make a surprise entrance. Bate would hit the ring, and would thank Breakker for the invitation.
He’s been in the ring with JD himself, and respects the dominant win from Breakker. Bate would hype up the the history of NXT UK, saying he’s intending to run NXT Europe as well. However, before we get there – he wants to set up a title unification match. Breakker would agree that when you think of NXT UK, you think of Tyler Bate – but this isn’t NXT UK.
This is the NXT, but Breakker agrees there should be just one NXT Champion. In two weeks, it’ll be champion vs. champion, winner takes all – at NXT 2.0 vs. NXT UK: Worlds Collide! NXT UK might be over, but it is set to end with a bang.
Gallus Get The Win, But Not The Gold
Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs have enjoyed being the NXT UK Tag Team Champions – but it’s time to face reality. That reality will come in the form of Gallus, with Mark Coffey & Wolfgang previously claiming the longest reign in the belts history. Tonight, after making an impact last week by attacking Diamond Mine, Gallus look to prove they can earn a second reign, as the belts are on the line tonight.
Coffey would kick things off with Briggs, and throw some strikes. Jensen would get the tag and hit a double shoulder tackle, before Wolfgang got the tag. Gallus would be able to isolate beat down Jensen, but would lose control. Briggs got the tag – and would drive Gallus from the ring.
The match would reset with Briggs & Coffey, with Briggs nailing some shoulder tackles. Jensen got the tag, just to throw Coffey into a back elbow smash – allowing for a two count. Wolfgang would hit some snug European Uppercuts, before Coffey would apply the rear chinlock.
Jensen was getting winded as Gallus beat him down, but was still able to kick out before two. Back body drop would catch Coffey, before Briggs got the tag and threw some right hands and big boots. At ringside, Lash Legend would attack Fallon Henley, with Pretty Deadly getting involved as well. This one would officially end with a countout, with Gallus winning – but not claiming gold.
