An Oklahoma man has pleaded guilty to federal charges after he kidnapped, choked, and sexually assaulted his wife. Jesse Ray Matlock (31) of Eucha, OK was charged in July 2022 for a variety of violent crimes all in retaliation for her not adding him on Facebook.

The incidents spanned 2021 as he is said to have raped and choked his wife in late February, choked her again May, stalked her between December 1 and December 4, and managed to kidnap and choke her between December 13 and December 14, 2021.
It was also in December that he threatened to send nudes to her friends and family and post them on Facebook and porn sites.
During the crimes, the U.S Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Oklahoma said that he “carried a firearm during the crimes and threatened to harm and harmed the victim to prevent her from communicating with law enforcement officials.”
In Jesse Ray Matlock’s own words he “threatened to kill her and others if she reported me to the police or refused to re-friend me on Facebook.”
The incidents occurred in Indian Country and his wife—addressed as “T.M” in court documents—is a member of the Cherokee Nation. According to KFOR, a count of spousal abuse, kidnapping, tampering with evidence, and carrying a firearm were dropped as part of the plea deal.
Matlock could face up to 10 years in federal prison for his actions.
