How bad can the world get? And how long can someone live under the mask of a ‘normal person’ before his dark side surfaces? Seems like it can take decades. At least that is the case with R.Kelly. Finally, after decades of abuse and spreading child pornography, R Kelly is facing the consequences.
A federal judge convicted the famous rapper R Kelly on several counts of child pornography and sexual abuse. The Chicago court unanimously decided that they need to put an end to R Kelly’s behavior and lock him up for as long as possible.
Sociopath R. Kelly Found Guilty For Hideous Child Pornography Case In Chicago Trial
This is the second trial in which the rapper comes out guilty. This is the second massive shock to his career that will send him straight into oblivion. While being guilty of all these convictions, R Kelly chose to plead not guilty and try and prove his innocence.
For this trial, the court convicted R Kelly of three counts of child pornography, and three counts of child enticement. However, this is not the end of it. The jury acquitted the musician on a fourth pornography charge.
R Kelly’s case involved several other people as well. The allegations state that they were accomplices in some of the convictions. Derrel McDavid and Milton Brown were involved in the same trial in Chicago. But, the judge found them not guilty.
Derrel McDavid acted as the manager of R Kelly for a long time. The accusations directed to him were that he conspired with R Kelly to arrange the 2008 trial. However, it turns out that R Kelly acted alone on this charge as well.
The rapper faced 13 charges against him. And they all piled up for a sentence that will most likely be a sentence for life. Bearing in mind that the court gives a minimum of 5 years for a single child pornography case, he is not getting out of jail anytime soon. In addition, we have the fact that he must serve at least 85% of his sentence.
According to evidence presented to the Chicago court, R Kelly used his influence and power to court young girls with the purpose of sexually abusing them.
The judge and jury found R Kelly guilty on all counts of his case and sentenced him to 30 years in prison. Even though he will dearly pay for the harm he inflicted on the girls, nobody can give them back their peace. They will remain scarred for life by R Kelly.
The rapper’s lawyers claimed that the explanation behind R Kelly’s actions lies in his traumatic childhood. He, himself had been a victim of ‘severe and prolonged childhood sexual abuse, poverty and violence.’
