The Church of Scientology was willing to do whatever it took to keep Tom Cruise happy by even helping him with his marital issues.
Church of Scientology Allegedly Helped Tom Cruise Marry Nicole Kidman-Says Former Church Member Mike Rinder
That is according to former Scientology member Mike Rinder in his book entitled, “A Billion Years: My Escape From a Life in the Highest Ranks of Scientology.” Mike is familiar with the workings of the church after having been involved since he was a child.
However, he left in 2007 which has now resulted in him speaking out against the organisation that he was once a part of. And as part of that process, Mike recalled how the church wanted to help Cruise get his wish of marrying Nicole Kidman.
There was just one issue, however. Cruise was still married to his first wife, Mimi Rogers, who had initially made him aware of Scientology.
That is when the church’s leader, David Miscavige, and his trusted lieutenant Greg Wilhere were allegedly tasked with making Cruise’s dream come true.
In his book, Mike wrote: “[Greg] assigned to get Mimi to agree to a divorce so Tom could marry Nicole. [It was] highly unusual and would never have happened with a normal Scientologist.”
It is quite intriguing, then, that Cruise just so happened to marry Kidman in the same year that he had gotten divorced with Mimi.
Although that may have been the case, a spokesperson on behalf of the Church of Scientology has denied the claims put forward by Mike.
In an official statement in response, a representative said: “Utterly ludicrous. Mike Rinder is an inveterate liar who seeks to profit from his dishonesty.
“He supports himself by orchestrating the harassment of his former Church and its leader through false police reports, incendiary propaganda and fraudulent media stories.”
Only Cruise knows whether these claims are true, but in any event, the scrutiny surrounding Scientology rumbles on as more people continue to speak out. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this?
