Mohamed Hassan Removed from Toronto’s Most Wanted List After Arrest in Prince Albert
In April 2021, he was involved in a drive-by shooting in Toronto where one was injured and another died. The area it occurred was the Etobicoke section of Dixon Road and Scarlett Road where drive-bys and gun violence aren’t uncommon.
The area is home to a number of beefing gangs with one resident—the Dixon Bloods—making headlines after they were mentioned during coverage of the police’s Project Traveller gang investigation.
This was also the investigation that brought late Toronto mayor Rob Ford’s crack use to light in 2013 and 2014.
During the arrest of Mohamed Hassan, the Prince Albert Police seized 120 grams of coke, crack, a loaded handgun, ammo, two cell phones, and over $12,000 in cash. His bug-out bag was loaded and kept him on the run for well over a year.
He was hit with possession of the proceeds of a crime, possession of a prohibited weapon, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, obstruction of a peace officer and possession of a dangerous weapon.
Also arrested at the Prince Albert location was Koren Mercredi (49) who was hit with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of the proceeds of a crime.
