A Louisiana man has pleaded guilty to kidnapping a gay man in 2020 with the intent of murdering and dismembering him. If this story sounds familiar, it’s a different state, and cannibalism isn’t involved. Chance Seneca (21) is said to have used Grindr, a dating app for those in the LGBTQ community to target his victim.
Louisiana Man Pleads Guilty to Using Grindr to Target Gay Man in An Attempt to Murder and Dismember Him in 2020
Seneca was 19-year-old when he lured his victim via Grindr and kidnapped them, according to the Department of Justice. He would drive him to an isolated location and force the victim to handcuff himself at gunpoint.
Chance Seneca told authorities that the goal was to murder and dismember the victim. He added that he intended to keep going until the police captured or killed him.
Authorities would save the Seneca’s intended victim after finding him in a bathtub. He was found with strangulation marks around his neck as well, slashes to his wrists, blunt force trauma to the head, and six stab wounds to the neck.
Chance Seneca plead guilty to the sole kidnapping charge on September 29, 2022. Facing a maximum of life in prison, more charges could be levied if it’s found that he targeted him, victim, based on his sexual orientation.
Seneca’s sentencing date is scheduled for January 25, 2023.
