AEW Dynamite rolls on after that tag team battle royal opened up the show! Britt Baker is at ringside for this women’s match, featuring two up-and-comers! Kris Statlander takes on Shanna, a regular on AEW Dark!
Kris Statlander vs. Shanna
Kris boops the referee to start, as always. Statlander with a top wristlock to start with. Shanna rolls through to reverse it. Statlander cartwheels her way aroudn the ring to break out of it and just keeps rolling, handstands, surprises Shanna with a headscissor takeover! Gets her in the corner, dramatic booping! Shanna and Kris meet in the middle, there is legitimately a boop battle starting. They pieface each other, Kris with chops! Whip to the ropes, shot to the midsection, uppercut, rolling enziguri for a 2 count! Shanna with a snapmare though, kick to the back as we go to commercial but the match continues in the inset.
Shanna lays in kicks and stomps. Roundhouse kick to the head nails hard, running big boot to the face for a 2 count! Statlander chops her way up, hits the ropes but Shanna stops her with a clothesline! Cover for 2. Shaynna slams her face against the top turnbuckle, snapmare for an inverted sleeper. We come back in time to see Kris snapmare her way free, roundhouse kick to the head! Yells to the crowd who yell right back! Charging uppercut in the corner, and a charging face wash knee! Hoists her up with ease for a Protobomb for a nearfall! Statlander scales the top rope, but Shanna clips her, gets her in the tree of woe and kicks her in the chest!
Shanna up top now, Double Footstomp to the chest sends her to the mat!
Close nearfall there! Butterfly Suplex, Kris fights out of it, Shanna ducks a clothesline as she hits the ropes, absolutely spikes her with a Tilt-A-Whirl Tornado DDT! “This Is Awesome” chant, Basement Dropkick sends Kris limp against the bottom rope! Cover for a nearfall! Tries for a chinlock, Statlander gets out with a back elbow. Statlander grabs Shanna while she’s behind her and shows off her strength, deadlifting her upside down in front of her for the Big Bang Theory! And that is of course the end of that one!

Real good match there, I love how much this division has already progressed. Don’t feel like people note that enough, really, it’s already leagues ahead of where it was in October.
