Liam Hemsworth is delighted to be cast in ‘The Witcher’ after the news that Henry Cavill will not be returning.
Liam Hemsworth Delighted To Replace Henry Cavill In ‘Witcher’
The Superman actor has been starring in the show for three seasons but will step down amid the recent news that he is set to reprise his role in the Man of Steel’ movies.
The show is based on the life of Geralt, whose mission is to travel around and fight monsters in the process. In doing so, he teams up with sorceress Yennefer and princess Ciri.
And given that Liam has been such a massive fan of the show, in particular the manner in which Henry has portrayed the character, he cannot wait to take on the role. In his comments, he said: “Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt.
“I’m honoured that he’s handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure. Henry, I’ve been a fan of yours for years.”
Nevertheless, there is still plenty of time before Liam takes himself to the screen. Henry’s final season of the show will air in 2023, but he has plenty of things to keep himself occupied with due to the return of Superman.
There had been question marks over whether or not Cavill would make a return to play the superhero, with suggestions that the franchise could have been rebooted.
But following his recent cameo in ‘Black Adam,’ Cavill confirmed the news that fans had been waiting for: his return for a sequel to The Man of Steel movie. In some comments at the time, he remarked: “The character means so much to me.
“It’s been five years now. I never gave up hope. It’s amazing to be here now talking about it again.” Time will tell how Liam and Henry do in their respective roles going forward in the future.
