It’s going on three years since AEW has been in business and there are things that they have done right and things that they have done wrong.
While most of the things that they have done right are simply things that people don’t like about WWE, the things that they have done wrong tend to have good intentions behind them.
Dark Elevation is an example of what they are doing wrong.
Why AEW Needs to Get Rid of Dark Elevation
For some reason, AEW has this mentality that more is better and most of the things that is wrong with AEW stems from this thought process.
If you look at most of the issues that they have, they can be boiled down to this. Think about it.
We should have more wrestlers, now the roster is over bloated and wrestlers want to go somewhere that they can at least get solid TV time.
We should have more titles so that everyone gets a chance to have one, but because of this, nobody cares about any of the titles.
We should have more TV shows so more people get shown but we’re still going to showcase the same wrestlers on every show.
Even though I think that the intentions behind having Dark and Dark Elevation is solid, if AEW aren’t going to do it correctly, then why do it at all?
The perception of AEW Dynamite is that it is usually pretty good week to week. AEW Rampage is usually a miss most weeks and from there, it trickles down to AEW Dark and Dark Elevation.
While I think that Dark is a solid show that does what it they intend for it to do, Elevation is another story.
Its basically another hour of Dark to the point that you wonder why don’t they just make Dark two hours which they certainly could because it’s on YouTube.
Dark Elevation just don’t really have a reasonable place for AEW and if it does, AEW don’t give us a reason to care about it.
AEW Dark Elevation Don’t Have a Place
For AEW’s over bloated roster, it sounds like having more showtime would be something that would be good, but when the extra showtime don’t have any purpose, then what’s the point?
It should be a place, like NXT, that you can develop the future of your company in a low-pressure environment.
This show is basically a showcase for people in the company that was probably promised a chance to shine and didn’t get it.
When you have talent like Claudio, Toni Storm, Rush, Andrade, Pac, Swerve and Keith Lee on Dark and Jade Cargill, Claudio, Hangman Page, and Andrade on Elevation, it makes you start to question the purpose of the show.
Get rid of it, especially if you can’t even get your second show (Rampage) to be booked to be at least decent most weeks.
