Texas Border Patrol Officers Kick Off November 2022 with Another Big Cocaine Bust of Almost 30 POUNDS – Valued at Almost $400K
This third seizure was slightly different from the first two busts. The vehicle this time was a 2003 Ford Focus operated by a 25-year-old American woman staying in Matamoros, Tamaulipas. She was arrived at the checkpoint from Mexico on November 2, 2022 and was forwarded for further inspection.
During the secondary inspection, both the NII system (non-intrusive inspection) and the CBP’s drug-sniffing dog picked up on something suspicious inside the Ford. After a physical search of the vehicle, officers found 13 packages wrapped up and tucked away inside.
After the product was tested and weighed, it was revealed to be 29.93 pounds of cocaine making it the second-biggest bust of the four busts. Stay tuned for the actual developments on this particular bust as it has a little more on the bone as far as questions being answered surrounding the four busts.
As is procedure, the driver, the drugs, and the vehicle were all handed over to Homeland Security Investigations for further inspection.
