In Wichita Falls, Texas, a man was charged with felony assault after attacking a woman for ruining Thanksgiving by catching COVID-19 and the flu. Because of her illness, their Thanksgiving plans were scuttled prompting this response.
Texas Man Arrested After Attacking Partner Who “Ruined” Thanksgiving by Contracting COVID-19
The Wichita Falls PD responded to a welfare check on November 18, 2022 at around 2:15 PM on Cunnigham Drive. Officers met the female victim at the door and observed bruising and cuts around her neck and eye, signs of a struggle or physical altercation.
She told them that the suspect was Taylor Bryce Parker (28). According to the victim, Parker had been drinking and was upset with her for being ill with COVID-19 and the flu. Claiming that she had ruined Thanksgiving because they wouldn’t be able to go to his mother’s house to celebrate, he began choking her and even slammed her head into the ground and put his foot across her throat.
Authorities found Taylor Bryce Parker passed out in the bathroom. When he came to, he admitted to being drunk on whiskey but said that the victim fell and that he hadn’t attacked her. His criminal past points to him beating someone isn’t new as he’d been arrested three times in 2019.
Parker was arrested for the third-degree felony of assault family violence choking and is being held at the Wichita Falls Jails on $5,000 bond.
