It just so happens to be that time again, as we’re brought to another installment of the Wednesday Night Wars! Hence, we’ve got ourselves another edition of AEW Dynamite going down this evening! The Librarian Leva Bates has a pretty big and swole test ahead of her as she faces… Big Swole! I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer and you can expect the same recap and results tonight as always for this show! Plus, a preview of everything that’s been announced! Though this week it took a little longer than usual, we did end up getting a full card as per usual. So let’s get into what we have in store!
Big Swole vs. Leva Bates
Though not a particularly large name or someone who’s super hot right now, AEW’s higher ups definitely see something in Big Swole. We saw her come out a couple of weeks ago, confronting Nyla Rose in the same segment that Kris Statlander came face-to-face with her. It seemed clear to me that the goal was to have a Statlander/Swole match-up last week for the shot at Revolution but Kris went down with the flu that week, forcing plans to change. They ended up just making Kris/Nyla regardless and Swole found herself in a four way match where she was not involved in the finish.
Still, they want to position her higher and in AEW that means racking up wins. She’s gotten a handful on Dark but I don’t believe she has a Dynamite victory to her name yet. So she’s got an easy one tonight in the form of Leva Bates and I can’t imagine this lasts more than two minutes. It shouldn’t be hard to show off her strengths in a short amount of time either. She’s a powerhouse as her name would suggest, one of the many athletically inclined but inexperienced workers of the women’s division. When she’s on, she’s pretty damn impressive.
Leva Bates, like her male Librarian counterpart, is largely here as a pure enhancement talent. She actually wrestles way less frequently than him, usually acting more as his manager than anything else. But when she does compete, it’s to be defeated in quick fashion. So there’s certainly no reason to expect anything else out of this one, it’s among three expected squashes. Big Swole over.
