Well my friends, it’s that time again, as we have come to another edition of the Wednesday Night Wars! And with that in mind, we’ve got ourselves another installment of AEW Dynamite this evening! After the enthralling in-ring debut of Orange Cassidy this past weekend at Revolution, one of his buddies in the Best Friends, Chuck Taylor, will be facing PAC tonight! I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer and you can expect the same recap and results tonight as always for this show! Plus, a preview of everything that’s on tap! Though this week it took a little longer than usual, we did end up getting a full card as per the norm. So let’s get into what we have in store!
PAC vs. Chuck Taylor
PAC has low-key been an enemy of the Best Friends grouping for quite a while. One of the earliest episodes of Dynamite saw him face off with Trent Baretta in a singles match, the first for Trent. This began something of a trend, in hindsight. PAC would later team up with the Hybrid-2 against the Best Friends triumvirate on Dark in a victorious effort. This was put to rest for a little while but would rear it’s ugly head again last week when Orange Cassidy saw fit to get in the Bastard’s face. PAC responded with a forearm that took him down to the stage and later that night, it was announced that Cassidy’s first singles match in AEW would be against PAC at AEW Revolution.
It was a shocking match to many, but to me, it was about as expected. That it’d be electric the whole way through was certainly easy to predict, everyone at these shows adores Orange no matter what anyone says. And everyone who would be in the know as to his skills in a more serious match could tell you that Cassidy was a much better worker than anyone understood. In there with a competitor the caliber of PAC, whose dead serious and surly character is a perfect foil for him no less, it really should be of no surprise that it was one of the highlights of the card.
Tonight on Dynamite, PAC completes the set as Chuck Taylor will be having his first singles bout in AEW against him. Undoubtedly the Bastard will be picking up another win tonight, presumably pushing him closer to a title opportunity now that the AEW World Championship is on a babyface.
