The Croats managed to defy the odds and knock out one of the favourites after having beaten the Brazilians on penalty kicks. Despite going behind to a Neymar goal in extra-time, they managed to pull level through an equalizer from Bruno Petković.
And the rest was history, as Croatia advanced to the semi-finals to set up a tie with Argentina. But for all the success that came the team’s way, Knoll divulged that security had prohibited her from taking pictures with admirers prior to the match.
When Croatia began the competition, some cheerful Qatari supporters were present and taking photographs of the 30-year-old who was wearing a red and white swimsuit and form-fitting red pants.
Prior to the commencement of the match with Brazil, however, the female model who was wearing minimal clothing was requested by the security personnel to not take any pictures of herself or with the supporters.
In her comments, she said: “They don’t allow the fans to take photos with me or pose for photos down here on the railing. I then asked them why they were so rude.”
Knoll has become extremely popular on Instagram in the last two weeks, as she managed to captivate spectators at the World Cup.
Her over-sexualised wardrobe clashes with the conservative standards that are expected from women in Qatar, which normally entails covering their shoulders and not wearing skirts that are too short.
Despite being asked to follow certain guidelines, the famous social media figure hadn’t abided by them. In some prior comments, she remarked: “It’s really great.
“No one has ever told me to cover up. Everyone wants photos with me, even the locals.” It is fair to say that the attitude might be changing now.
