Security personnel removed singer Patti LaBelle from the stage during her show on Saturday, 10th December 2022, at the Riverside Theater in Milwaukee, as a ‘bomb threat’ had been reported.

A spectator at the concert recorded a video that showed the 78-year-old renowned vocalist speaking to the audience shortly before two bodyguards rushed to the stage and forcibly took her away.
At the beginning of the unsettling footage, LaBelle was conversing with a supporter in the crowd, holding a bunch of roses. She was facing away from the stage to the left, when two security guards wearing full black outfits came up from behind and took hold of her.
She could be heard saying: “Wait, hold up,” before changing her behaviour after being whispered something in her ear.
LaBelle released the bouquet and attempted to put her microphone back onto the stand, but a security guard came from the right-hand side of the stage to help her.
Security staff members each took one of her arms and assisted her in leaving the area. The singer’s band rapidly left their positions to accompany LaBelle.
But for all the panic that may have emerged, it seems no one was hurt as the audience was taken out of the building safely. As of now, an investigation is ongoing in order to get to the bottom of this.
The response on social media was one of shock and outrage. A certain subset were taken aback by what had happened. Meanwhile, others criticised the manner in which the security reacted. And in the process, they felt that the safety of the concert-goers had been compromised.
One person wrote: “Unbelievable they whisk her and the band OFF and leave the crowd, which will take more time to evacuate safely out, instead of quietly asking her to ask the people to slowly and safely leave the building and not left just sitting there-NICE-One even has time to take his jacket.”
