The three include Carlos Alberto Roman (56), James Richards Howell (37), and Kenneth Angel Vera (31). According to the Department of Justice, Roman provided cocaine and fentanyl for Howell and Vera to sell. He was also in regular contact with them—presumably about drug trafficking activities in the Orlando area.
In August 2022, Roman was arrested with 19 firearms, thousands of rounds of ammunition, three flash-bang grenades, and six silencers. With the addition of firearms charges, Roman is looking at a minimum of 30 years and a maximum of life behind bars. Vera is looking at up to 20 years in prison.
The trial for a fourth suspect arrested in raids—Joely Manuel Burgos (39)–will be on January 17, 2023.
