There is an ongoing investigation into an Austin, Texas bank robbery where a masked individual held up a teller at gunpoint. The Austin PD is currently asking the public for help in the robbery because of the sparse details surrounding the suspect.
Austin PD Seeking the Public’s Help In Armed Bank Robbery Investigation
The robbery occurred on October 4, 2022 at 5 PM when a masked woman walked into the Public Employee Credit Unit. In a recently released surveillance video, he is shown brandishing a black semi-automatic handgun and demanding cash from a teller.
A few descriptive details were released by the Austin PD. The robber is said to be in his mid-20s and early-30s, either light-skinned Black or Hispanic, and stands between 5’9 and 6’0. It’s not the most descriptive but that’s all the police are working with at the moment.
It wasn’t mentioned if there are other robberies in the Travis, Hays, or Williamson counties with similar methods or locations hit by the suspects. Austin PD asks that people with information contact 512-974-5092. If their information leads to an arrest, they might receive a reward of up to $1,000.
