Last night, we got to see Sami Zayn win his first championship on the main roster when alongside Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro they would take down Braun Strowman. This is his first championship win since he was NXT Champion, and many fans agree it was long overdue. However Sami will now remember that being a champion is not easy work, as with only 27 days until Wrestlemania, his first defense won’t be far out. Who will his first opponent be as champion?
Braun Strowman Looking For His Rematch
While Strowman is not the type to ever stand down from a challenge, the three on one handicap match stipulation for his first title defense was a hard match for anyone. In a one on one match with any of the three men involved, it would have been an easy victory for Strowman. Having dominated Sami Zayn many times in the past, we could see Strowman earn his way to a one on one match with Sami at Wrestlemania, and reclaim his championship in quick fashion.
Sami Zayn vs. Shinsuke Nakamura II
The best match in Shinsuke Nakamuras time in WWE was actually his debut match. He would face Sami Zayn who was on his way out of NXT in an instant classic that people still hold in high regard today. While the bloated card of Wrestlemania is hardly a place for the second installment to one of the best matches in company history, even if it was give 15 minutes on the card they could produce some magic to send home hardcore fans with at least one wrestling classic. They are currently allies, but with how much of a loudmouth Sami Zayn is, he could take all the glory from this victory and cause both Cesaro & Nakamura to turn on him, setting this match up.
Multi-Man Mayhem
WWE likes to get as much of their talent as possible on a Wrestlemania card, so we could see the Intercontinental Championship used for a big multi-man match once again. The match has often been placed into a ladder match scenerio at Wrestlemania, and we could easily see a match full of people like Sheamus, Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, Nakamura, Drew Gulak, Sami Zayn and Braun Strowman at the event. It would help to solidify the midcard scene of Smackdown, and give fans an exciting mayhem filled match to enjoy at Wrestlemania.
