Ever since his return to his old look of The Celtic Warrior, Sheamus has been on a warpath on Smackdown. He has already decimated Shorty G and Apollo Crews, and he will not stop there. To truly establish himself as a top star once again, he needs to chase a strong target. With the Universal Championship out of reach for Sheamus at the moment, there is a more reasonable target to start with. That is the one title which has alluded the trophy case of Sheamus, the Intercontinental Championship. He alluded to this with a tweet where he declared his intent to become the Ultimate Grand Slam Champion.
Sheamus Has Just About Done It All
Over the past decade, Sheamus has won the WWE Championship, World Heavyweight Championship, United States Championship, and numerous Tag Team Championships. He has also won the Royal Rumble, King of The Ring and Money In The Bank. The only man who matches this list and surpasses it is Edge. All that Sheamus needs is the Intercontinental Championship and he will be one of the most decorated men in WWE history.
Braun Strowman Isn’t Finished With Nakamura Yet
While Sheamus has his eyes on the Monster Amongst Men, he will need to wait until Strowman is done picking what’s left of Nakamura apart. After a surprisingly brutal music themed match, Nakamura would be slammed through a piano and need stitches. The King Of Strong Style will be looking for revenge, which could come at the Elimination Chamber PPV, or a future Smackdown main event. Once Strowman finishes this feud however, there is no reason that Sheamus can’t be his next challenger.
Can The Celtic Warrior Slay A Monster?
While he is on his way to genuine legend status in WWE, Sheamus won’t be able to just walk in and take the Intercontinental Championship from Braun. He will be facing one of the most imposing figures in WWE today. Strowman has only just gotten his first taste of WWE gold, and he won’t be too keen on letting it slip through his fingers right away. It would be a brutal and hard hitting afair, and either man in this hypothetical matchup could walk away as champion, but other would walk away with battle scars.
