At NXT Deadline, we would see the first ever Iron Survivor Challenge matches in WWE history – with Roxanne Perez & Grayson Waller earning title shots as a result of gaining victory. Waller was able to quickly score two falls, before claiming a third late in the match to ensure his victory. With his upcoming match with Bron Breakker set for NXT’s New Year’s Evil event – many are hopeful for a new champion, but maybe not WWE commentator Booker T.
Booker T Is Not A Big Fan Of Grayson Waller
On a recent episode of Booker T’s Hall of Fame podcast – the two time WWE Hall of Famer would give his thoughts on Waller, comparing him to UFC fighter Colby Covington.
“I’m not a big fan of Grayson Waller, okay, let’s just say that, first and foremost. I mean he has that Colby Covington feel about him, there is just something that you just don’t like about him. But he’s good. He can actually get in the ring and perform at a high level. He entertains man. He’s very entertaining. As far as being confident in one’s self, he has got all of that. He’s super confident. I was not surprised at one bit of him going out there and winning, but now he has to go on and take on Bron Breakker.”
Waller vs. Breakker Happens On January 10th, 2023
Booker T will be calling this match between Waller & Breakker on January 10th, 2023 – and will likely not shy away from supporting the defending champion on that night. Another match that was planned for New Years Evil was Mandy Rose vs. Roxanne Perez, with that match being pushed up to the December 13th episode of NXT due to the incoming release of Mandy Rose from her WWE contract.
It’s unclear who Perez will face at New Years Evil with Rose gone from WWE, but there will likely be a title defense on the major episode of NXT. New Years Evil 2022 saw Mandy Rose defend against both Cora Jade & Raquel Gonzalez.
