Things started moments earlier when an attempt to pull over a car resulted in the driver speeding off on the Westminster police. Shortly into the chase, the driver began tossing drugs out of the window creating the “snowstorm” one officer recounted. The suspect later stopped the car and was arrested without further incident.
Tim Hughes (60) was charged with suspected possession of narcotics for sale, destruction of evidence, and felony evading. Because of the way Hughes ditched the drugs, only so much could be recovered on the chase route.
Police were able to seize six ounces of meth and seven ounces of fentanyl from the road. In an inspection of the vehicle, they found $6,000 in cash, an ounce of heroin, and 300 fentanyl pills.
