Musician M.I.A Claims She Was Hated After Declaring Her Belief In Jesus-‘I Will Tell The Truth’
Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam, better known as the “Paper Planes” singer, confirmed that she experienced something supernatural, leading her to convert to being a “born again Christian”.
Arulpragasam asserted that she experienced a vision of Jesus Christ that totally changed her life. The vocalist revealed that she was brought up in the Hindu faith and had previously seen Jesus as a fanciful narrative before this event.
In her comments, she said: “The fact that the biggest backlash in my career and life I’m facing after saying ‘Jesus is real’ is such a revelation to me. People who control these apps rather me be a bad girl, then a good one.”
Arulpragasam has been in the spotlight due to her strong political views, including her endorsement of a terrorist organization listed by the US government.
In 2006, it was said that she was disallowed to enter the US. Moreover, in 2012, she was involved in a legal battle with the NFL after she stuck up her middle finger during her performance at the Super Bowl.
However, the vocalist anticipated that she would experience a decrease in her fan base due to her recent conversion to Christianity.
Her following comments confirmed as much: “Basically, all of my fans might turn against me because they are all progressives who hate people that believe in Jesus Christ in this country.
“[E]ven if it costs me my career, I won’t lie. I will tell the truth.” The fans on social media praised the singer for sticking to her beliefs irrespective of the price she had to pay.
And in the process, the comments were very warm indeed. One person wrote: “Brave lady.” Time will tell if there are any further ramifications moving forward.
