Pennsylvania Police Arrest Woman Who Allegedly Dismembered Her Elderly Parents with Chainsaw
According to Justin Beck, the couple’s son, he hadn’t heard from them in a week. At around 8 PM that evening, Beck rode past his parents’ home and noticed their cars in the driveway. He returned at roughly 9:30 PM to drop off some soup for his sister Verity.
Once inside, he noticed a sheet that appeared to be covered in blood with feet poking out from underneath. Beck spoke with Verity who lived with the deceased couple and her explanation of the home situation was troubling.
She told Beck that things weren’t going well in the house. Verity would also request some time before contacting the police. Beck called the police after asking if something bad had happened. When Abington PD arrived, they used a robot to explore the first floor while a drone checked the second floor.
There was no sign of Verity or the elder Becks from the initial search. After midnight, police entered the house via a side entrance and ran into a familiar smell. When the officers found Verity, they asked about where her parents were. She confirmed that 73-year old Reid Beck and 72-year-old Miriam were dead.
Officers would find the remains of the couple dismembered. According to the DA’s Office, Reid Beck was found in a sheet and several body parts were found in a trash can. It was also reported that a chainsaw and guns were found on the property.
Also of note is a safe that the couple owned which was tampered with but couldn’t be opened. Three additional licensed guns were taken from Verity’s bedroom.
At the moment, authorities are working with January 7, 2023 as the likely date they were killed. The bodies of Reid and Miriam Beck were transferred to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office for further investigation.
Verity Beck was charged with first-degree and third-degree murder after it was found that she shot the couple in their heads. She is currently being held without bail at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
