This Saturday at NXT Vengeance Day – Wes Lee has his greatest challenge to date as NXT North American Champion. He will be facing down a very dangerous man in the form of Dijak, who has coveted that belt since making his way to NXT years ago. Tonight, we will hear from Lee ahead of his next title defence.
Wes Lee & Dijak Get Interrupted By Von Wagner
Wes Lee is incredibly excited that NXT is going back on the road, and he knows that comes with his biggest challenge to date. Dijak claims to want justice, but everyone knows he just wants to prove himself with gold after his disaster run as T-Bar. Lee knows he will take a beating, but intends to once again overcome the odds.
Dijak would hit the ring and said that while Lee just gave a nice speech, it won’t make a difference in the end as he faces the biggest and baddest man in NXT. Lee had every chance to simply hand the belt over, and refused. Now, Dijak will destroy Lee – and take the belt from a broken man.
Lee would respond saying that is exactly what it will take to end this reign. He’s put in the work day after day, and earned the support of the fans. Dijak isn’t just fighting Lee – he’s fighting everyone on the Wes Side. Von Wagner & Robert Stone would crash this promo, taking offence that people forgot that Wagner is the biggest and baddest man in the company.
Wagner would hit the ring and say the real in-justice in NXT is he’s overlooked. Lee would stir the pot, and said that Wagner can earn a title shot and prove he’s the biggest and baddest in NXT – all in one match.
Wes Lee Helps Make A Hard Hitting Match
Dijak would punch Wagner in the face and get sent to the floor shortly after. Referees swarmed, and the match would be made official just like that. Dijak would be dropped with a jumping knee smash in the ring – before blocking a Fallaway Slam. Wagner would be thrown across the ring with a suplex, before taking a neckbreaker.
Cravate would be applied, with Wagner able to break free and hit a powerslam for a two count. Dijak would reapply the cravate – before switching into a knee smash before a lariat for a two count. Wagner would hit a suplex into the corner, with Dijak landing on his head in response.
This would just fire Dijak up, who went for the rolling elbow – taking a boot to the face instead. Wagner would take the sit out chokeslam for a near fall, before being set up for an Avalanche Chokeslam. Dijak would lose control and be hit with a Butterfly Driver from the top rope, getting Wagner a two count. Wagner would be taken into a Crossface Chickenwing, which was switched into Feast Your Eyes for the win.
Bron Breakker & Grayson Waller Are Ready To Be Locked In Steel Cage
We’re just a few short days away from the first NXT PPV of the year – Vengeance Day. In the main event, we will see Bron Breakker defend the NXT Championship against Grayson Waller, with both men trapped within a solid steel cage. This came after their match at New Years Evil ended due to a ring malfunction. Bron Breakker has never entered a steel cage before – and tonight we get a closer look into what both Breakker & Waller are thinking.
For Breakker, it’s about proving he’s the greatest NXT Champion of all time – because NXT is his life. He’s beaten the likes of Tommaso Ciampa, Dolph Ziggler, Apollo Crews & GUNTHER – but Waller is unlike any of them. Waller has been proving himself these past eight months with no title success, and that changes now. The only reason he’s not NXT Champion is because the rings broke as he went to put Breakker down for good.
Breakker has been an emotional man since coming to NXT, and few people have taken advantage of that like Waller has. He’s to let Breakker beat himself in the Steel Cage, but Breakker thinks his emotional rage will benefit him when the cage door is locked.
