Swerve Strickland has really shown his true colours in the past few months. After finally turning his back and injuring Keith Lee, Swerve would align himself with Parker Boudreaux and a mysterious tattooed man who is simply being called “Trench”. Recently – he would take aim at Dustin Rhodes, feeling that old timers like Rhodes have no place taking TV spots from young legends like Swerve. One man who would stand up for Rhodes is Brian Pillman Jr – ironic given his fathers last feud was against Rhodes. Tonight, Swerve goes one on one with Pillman; and wants to send a clear message to all second generation wrestlers.
Swerve Strickland Tries To Injure Brian Pillman Jr.
Pillman would try to take the match onto the mat, but was out gunned by Swerve in that regard before being sent into the corner. Swerve would dodge a chop before taking a kick to the jaw. Pillman would refuse to play the games of Swerve, stepping on his back after a drop down, and turning his back to Swerve.
This would serve to anger Swerve, allowing Pillman to send him to the floor for a dropkick. Trench & Parker would intimidate Pillman from a follow up, giving Swerve the time to recover. Swerve would take a Northern Lights Suplex, before getting a knee wrench in on Pillman, to take away the speed advantage.
Pillman would have his knee stomped on with the full weight of Swerve, before taking the diving uppercut to the neck. Swerve would lose some ground, before hitting the big right hand before a backbreaker – with Pillman able to fight back with a lariat. Pillman again took a strike to the left knee, setting him up for the House Call kick.
Trench & Parker would get involved, setting up a Death Valley Driver on the apron. Swerve Stomp would follow – and this match was over. Parker nailed a lariat after the bell – before a chain wrapped punch was set. Dustin Rhodes and a turnbuckle support would run off Swerve and Co – saving Pillman.
